Are you preparing a grant proposal, a special issue, an edited book, or setting up a new research network? The EISA Exploratory Symposia offers an excellent opportunity to meet in groups to pursue collaborative work.

The Exploratory Symposia aim to facilitate two kinds of research groups:

    1. Newly established groups that would like to meet at an early stage of a research project to progress it;
    2. Already established research groups that would like to meet to work out how to further their research agenda.

We encourage in particular participants and section chairs of the Pan-European Conference (PEC) on International Relations and European Workshops in International Studies (EWIS) to apply to continue their work through the Exploratory Symposia.

In 2025, EISA will host its 12th Exploratory Symposia for members in the town of Rapallo on the Portofino Coast in Italy, 26th October to 29th October 2025.

Registration Fee

Participation fee 300 €

The participation fee  applies to each participant. 
Panelists are the expected to confirm their participation by paying the registration fee by July 14, 2025. 

EISA covers accommodation and breakfast (3 nights: arrival 26th, departure 29th October) plus an opening dinner on the first day of the symposia. Refreshment at the afternoon coffee break will be available on 27th and 28th October.

Lunches are not included in the registration fee.

Travel costs and other costs are to be covered by participants. 

Please not that all participants must be EISA members. Anyone who is not already a member of the EISA or who needs to renew their membership can do so here. 

 

Payment Details

 

All fees are to be paid in EUR (€), free of all bank charges. However, please confirm with your bank as to any possible charges from their side. The payments are available until 14 July 2025. 

 

By Bank Transfer

 

Registration fees can be paid via bank transfer. 

Please make sure that the payment is free of all bank charges and participant’s name and event headline is clearly stated in the bank transfer. 

Participants name should be written in the comment section. Payments received without such details (participant’s name, Exploratory Symposia Rapallo 2025) cannot be identified.

Final Invoice

The final invoice will be provided to the participants only upon request at info@eisa-net.org.

 

Cancellation / Refund Policy

Cancellation of Registration

    • From 15 July 2025 – no refunds can be processed
      All cancellations must be notified by email.

Insurance

 

The registration fee does not include participant’s insurance against accidents, sickness, cancellation, theft, property damage or loss. All participants are advised to take out adequate personal insurance.

Please take note of the EISA policy on non-fulfilment of commitments

Each year EISA receives many more applications for places at each of our events than we have places available. We therefore take the commitment to attend and participate in our events seriously. It is EISA policy that anyone who fails to adhere to the registration deadline of any event, before which time you could cancel your participation, will be penalized. Anyone found to be in non-fulfilment of their commitments to EISA will not be allowed to participate in any EISA events for a calendar year. Exemptions to this on medical or other exceptional grounds will be considered but please note that withdrawals past the deadline due to lack of funding or other professional or personal commitments are not considered sufficient reasons for partial refunds or for exemption from non-fulfilment of commitment penalties.
