TOMidEast SUMMER SCHOOL ” Dis(order) in the Middle East: Space, Power and Politics “, 

VII edition, from June 22nd to June 27th, 2020– University of Turin- Italy

 

TOMidEast is the first Summer school in Europe and Italy spacifically focused on MENA politics. The aim of the new edition is to critically deconstruct the relationship between space and politics by exploring the role they have played not only in redefining the boundaries of sovereignty and power, but also of socio-cultural and economic identities and assets.

Video projections and debates will enrich the classes taught in English by International scholars; for this seventh edition confirmed their participation Gilbert Achcar (SOAS), Adam Hanieh (SOAS), Tamirace Fakhoury (Lebanese American University), Salwa Ismail (SOAS), Daniel Meier (IEP Grenoble) while it will be the first time for Hèla Yousfi (Universitè Paris Dauphine), Estella Carpi (University College London) and Sara Fregonese (University of Birmingham).

The candidates are selected on the basis of their academic and professional profile. They can apply to one of the 10 FREETORINO scholarships that cover ONLY lodging expenses in Torino for the duration of the school. Applications are welcome from March 4th to June 2nd, 2020.
