TOMidEast SUMMER SCHOOL “The Unfinished Arab Revolutions: Power, Politics and Governance in the Middle East”

VIII edition, from 5th July to 9th July 2021 – University of Turin- Italy 

(held entirely online due to Covid-19 considerations)

TOMidEast is the first summer school in Europe and Italy focused specifically on MENA politics. The 2021 edition critically unpacks power, politics and governance, exploring the role they have in re-defining the trajectories of Arab states. Lectures will include video projections and discussions held in English presented by International scholars and experts of the MENA region: Marie-Noelle Abi Yaghi (Lebanon Support), Gilbert Achcar (SOAS), Adam Hanieh (University of Exeter), Francesco Cavatorta (Laval University), Tamirace Fakhoury (Lebanese American University), Fanar Haddad (LSE), Nadine Sika (AUC), Andrea Teti (Aberdeen University), and Bilge Yabanci (Ca’ Foscari Venezia).

 

Candidates are selected on the basis of their academic and professional profile. 10 FREETORINO scholarships are available which will reduce the participation fees. Applications are open from the 14 March to 17 June 2021. The 2021 Edition will be held entirely online due to Covid-19 regulations through the CISCO Webex platform.
